Monte Gordo is the biggest seaside resort in the East Algarve and the best area for anyone who prefers a hotel, lively surroundings and having everything on foot. It is about 18 to 20 minutes by car from Cacela Velha and has more than 5 km of beach, a casino, a seafront promenade and plenty of restaurants. The water is among the warmest in the Algarve.
