Cachopo, in the Serra do Caldeirão, about 52 km from Cacela Velha: how to get there, what to see (dolmen, church, museum nucleus, viewpoints), hill products, festivals and what I could not confirm. With parish council and municipality sources.
The Algarve hills are less than an hour from Cacela Velha, but they are another Algarve: villages of scattered hamlets, schist and whitewashed houses, honey, medronho and quiet. This guide uses Cachopo, in the Serra do Caldeirão, as the base for a day in the hills, with sources from the parish council and the municipality, and says what I could not confirm. I did not visit Cachopo for this article.
