This two-day itinerary for couples brings together the calmest things in and around Cacela Velha: the village at the end of the day, the lagoon, a day in Tavira and dinners with a view. It is my own suggestion, built only from stops I could verify in sources (given for each one), with everything I did not confirm flagged.

- Base: Cacela Velha, Manta Rota or Tavira. Tavira is 13 minutes by train from Cacela in the CP regional timetable in force since 19 July 2026 (CP), or about 15 minutes by car (OSRM, 22 October 2026).
- Day 1: village, church and churchyard, sunset and dinner in the village.
- Day 2: morning on the lagoon or beach, afternoon in Tavira, dinner in town.

- Booking: Casa da Igreja does not take reservations, according to Postal (30 June 2025). For the other restaurants, book if the venue says so.
- Not confirmed: massages or spas in Cacela Velha, private dinners and exclusive couples' tours.
Day 1: village and sunset
- Arriving in the village. The car park at the entrance is free and small and, in July and August, it fills before 10:00. See how to get to Cacela Velha.
- Walk through the village (about an hour). Church, square and views over the lagoon. The fort cannot be visited inside (GNR). See the walk through the village.
- Sunset at the churchyard. The churchyard has a wide view over the Ria Formosa and extends westward, according to Wikipedia. Arrive 30 to 45 minutes early (my suggestion) and see the times by month.
- Dinner in the village. Two listings on this site: Restaurante Casa Velha, with a terrace overlooking the fort and the lagoon, and fresh seafood and razor-clam rice, according to the listing; and Casa da Igreja, with outdoor tables, small plates and wine, and the lagoon oysters among the most common orders. Day 2: lagoon, Tavira and dinner
- Morning on the water. Two options, both with times that change:
